Fundraiser: Mariners Hockey Club Working to Raise Money for Movember, Supporting Men's Mental Health

The Mariners Hockey Club is launching a Movember campaign. Mariners players will be growing out their staches in support of Men's Mental Health. Their goal is to raise $1500 throughout the month of November.

Assistant Captain Max Struss says "We’ve decided to grow out our staches in support of men’s mental health and suicide prevention. Mental health matters, and we hope to raise awareness throughout our school, and in the community".

Mariners Movember Campaign

Movember is a global charity initiative that focuses on raising awareness and funds for men's health issues, primarily prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. It is typically associated with the practice of growing mustaches during the month of November, hence the name "Movember." Participants, known as "Mo Bros" and "Mo Sistas," use their mustache growth and various fundraising activities to engage in conversations about men's health and promote early detection and treatment of these issues.

The Movember Foundation, established in 2003, has since funded numerous projects and initiatives to support research, education, and advocacy related to men's health. Their goal is to reduce the number of preventable deaths and improve the quality of life for men worldwide. Movember has become a significant global movement with millions of participants and supporters each year, making a positive impact on men's health.
